On 11 January 2012 Michael Festejo commenced work at Jackson Lalic as an assistant to Peter Jackson and David Lalic. Everyone at Jackson Lalic looks forward to Michael being with the firm.

In early December 2011, Sylvia Jaszczykowski and Lars Maritzen from Germany started their internship at Jackson Lalic. We are delighted to have them with us and our clients very much appreciate their contribution.

On 1 November 2011, Michael Schmitz, Thomas Eichmann and Tim Patzold commenced a three month internship at Jackson Lalic Lawyers. We all welcome Michael, Thomas and Tim to our firm. On 6 October 2011, the High Court of Australia heard the appeal of Mrs Waller against judgments of the Supreme Court of New South Wales in relation to her loan arrangements with Hargraves. The case concerned the meaning of a farm mortgage under the Farm Debt Mediation Act. A full newsletter item will be prepared once the court delivers its decision.

On 12 September 2011, Joyce Lim started work at Jackson Lalic as a law clerk. Already Joyce is assisting solicitors in the office with the preparation of cases for hearing.

On Friday 8 July 2011, Aaron Bolton was admitted as a solicitor. He will continue to work at Jackson Lalic as a solicitor, assisting Peter Jackson and David Lalic in the work done at the firm.

During July 2011, we have had the pleasure of having two overseas law interns with us. In the earlier part of the month, Caterina Pellegrini was with us from Italy and commencing on 11 July, Celia Reumer started a two week internship.

It has been a delight to have Katrina and Celia with us.

Peter Jackson has recently returned from a trip to Romania and China. In both countries he held meetings with parties who were concerned to develop climate change projects.

The firm’s representative in Romania, Costy Stan, is continuing to work with the organisation in Bucharest that Peter met with.

Costy Stan in Bucharest continues to work as a representative of Jackson Lalic Lawyers. He is presently doing research for Dominic Green on European Energy Agencies. Should anyone wish to speak to Dominic about this work he would be pleased to discuss it.
